MAY 24, 2020 UPDATE
It has been a tough couple of months and I hope you are all doing well. I have been told that our Thrift Store will be allowed to open in Alert 3, which baring any unforeseen problems will be June 8, 2020.
Things will be different, to be sure. But I have full confidence that we will get through it. Hours of work may change, and certainly, nobody will be working full time hours until we begin taking in some revenue. I will send each of you a private email letting you know how your particular circumstance will be changing. (If I don’t already have your email address please send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org).
I look forward to seeing you all, safe and sound, back at work.
APRIL 2, 2020 UPDATE
Everyone now has their checks and ROE’s and the pick up process worked perfectly. Thanks to each of you for doing your part.
I have been asked some EI questions, so hope this helps:
- Do nothing with your ROE..it is for your file.
- Go to CRA MY ACCOUNT and make sure you are set up for direct deposit.
- April 6th. CRA will have a form for you to fill out to apply for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB).
- You will receive $2000 per month sent by direct deposit within 3-5 days (this replaces EI and is more than you would have received on EI)
If you have any questions, or if there is anything I can do for you (work related or not) send me an email. I am still working and happy to help.
Stay home, stay safe.
APRIL 1, 2020 UPDATE
In an effort to maintain social distancing, while still getting your check to you, the process will work as follows:
You will pick up your check from the mailbox at my home at 97 Newtown Road (turn at MUN on Elizabeth Avenue…we are between Elizabeth & Empire),
- Come at your scheduled time.
- Only your check will be in the mailbox.
- Take your check, leave your keys (if any) and leave.
- If you come early you will have to wait in your car for the correct time. If it’s not the right time, it’s not the right check.
- If you come late, your check will have been removed to accommodate the next person…you will need to email me for a new pick up time…so don’t miss your time slot.
If you need me for anything, don’t ring the bell..I won’t answer. You must send me an email.
Pick Up Schedule, Thursday, April 2nd. as follows:
9:00 – 9:15 =Amanda
9:15- 9:30 = Basil & Joyce
9:30- 9:45 = Bonnie
11:00-11:15 = Michaela
11:15-11:30 = Nancy
11:45-12:00 = Valarie
IF YOU WOULD PREFER TO HAVE YOUR CHECK MAILED, SEND ME AN EMAIL TODAY. I WILL BE HAPPY TO PUT IT IN THE MAIL FOR YOU.
MARCH 31, 2020 UPDATE
Hope you are all at home & safe. The bad news is that we never received the ROE’s (we haven’t received ANY mail)….the great news is I have been able to make the necessary arrangements with Service Canada to submit them on line. What that means is that when the Canada Emergency Response Fund is able to accept applications (through the CRA My Account), your ROE’S will already be on file and waiting. I will put a copy in your pay check on Thursday, just for your files, BUT YOU DON’T DO ANYTHING WITH IT.
Your final paychecks will be ready on Thursday, as promised. In keeping with social distancing guidelines, I will be giving you a time (in alphabetic order) of when and where you can pick it up. Stay tuned for that tomorrow. (people with keys will need to return them when you come to pick up your check…you know who you are).
Any questions, feel free to send me an email.
MARCH 29, 2020 UPDATE
Hope you are all staying home and safe. Two pieces of information to share
- Canada Post will begin delivery again tomorrow….we are getting closer to getting our ROES’s
- You will apply for the new Canada Emergency Response Benefit by going to the CRA My Account website beginning in April. My suggestion is that you go there now and make sure your sign-in and direct deposit are in order, that way you’ll be all set once they are ready for you to apply.
MARCH 26, 2020 ANSWER TO PAYCHECK QUESTION
I was just asked when your final checks will be ready…great question. Your final checks will be ready by Thursday (regular payday) however, my hope is that your ROE’s will be here before then and we can arrange for you to make one trip to pick up both.
Any more questions, let me know by email email@example.com
MARCH 26, 2020 UPDATE
You have probably heard on the news this morning that Canada Post will not be delivering mail for the rest of this week. Hopefully we will receive our ROE’s next week. In the meantime you have no doubt heard that the Government has instituted a new Canada Emergency Response Benefit that we will all qualify for instead of EI.
MARCH 25, 2020 UPDATE
We managed to get a tracking number for our ROE’s. They arrived at the St. John’s post office on March 23rd. so it would seem that we will get them as soon as the Post Office opens and starts delivery again. Will keep you updated via this format. Stay home and stay safe.
March 24, 2020 UPDATE
As you are aware, we are waiting to receive your ROE forms from Service Canada. We have not yet received them and Canada Post did not deliver yesterday and will not deliver today. I have registered with Service Canada to be able to file online, however, they send an authorization code BY MAIL which could take 5-10 business days (under normal circumstances). I am not giving up and will inform you, right here, when I have any further information. It is my understanding that you can go on line and apply for your employment insurance, without your ROE, you may call 1-800-206-7218 for additional information. Stay home, stay safe.
March 20, 2020
The covid-19 pandemic has caused chaos in the world and it has finally come to our door. Previously Loved Clothes & Things will be closing our doors as of 5:00 p.m. today, March 20, 2020.
We fully expect that this will be TEMPORARY. Once we get the okay from Government we will open again.
So stay home, stay safe, practice social distancing. Updates will be available on our website under the weather section (same place you got your info when we had bad weather.)
We have sent for Record of Employment forms and we are told they will arrive next week. Check our website for info on when they will be ready for you to pick up, along with your final check.
Any questions, feel free to send me an email.
Thank you for everything you have done to keep us open. I look forward to seeing you when the world turns right side up again.
